Elizabeth Goertzen is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner here at Red Couch Counseling. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In 2011, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York College. During her undergrad, she interned at Grace Children's Home in Henderson, NE for a summer as a house parent for teenagers transitioning from higher levels of care to back home and this influenced her to pursue counseling. She lives on a farm with her family and their many animals. Elizabeth specializes in working with adults of all ages and is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. She uses Somatic Therapy techniques, which helps address the physical effects of trauma and stress stored in the body. By creating a mind/body connection, we are able to regulate our nervous systems and our emotions for more holistic healing.
