Accelerated Resolution Therapy

ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)

WHAT IS ACCELERATED RESOLUTION THERAPY (ART)?

ART is a brief, evidence-based therapy designed to help people find relief from traumatic memories, stress, anxiety, and depression through positive imagery and releasing uncomfortable body sensations. A unique aspect of ART is that clients don’t need to discuss the specifics of the traumatic event with the therapist. This is due to the fact that ART is procedural, despite its creative elements, and that the client controls the process while the ART Therapist serves as a useful guide. Research shows that people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who receive ART typically experience an improvement in symptoms over the course of one to five one-hour sessions.
