COUPLES THERAPY

COUPLES THERAPY

Every relationship has ups and downs, and it takes certain communication and interpersonal skills to navigate the peaks and valleys in a healthy way. Action can be taken in couples counseling or marital therapy to gain forgiveness and compassion, work through your communication struggles, and develop improved connection over time.

Why are marital therapy and couples counseling important?

Relationships can be a major source of mental health strain in our lives, often impacting our ability to take care of ourselves and treat our significant others in a compassionate way. We oftentimes do not have the capacity to compartmentalize our relationships from impacting other areas of our lives, which may take a negative toll on our parenting, careers, and substance use patterns.

If we take the time to understand our personal relationship dynamics and grow in therapy, we may be able to improve our lives and connections with significant others tenfold.

Many couples attend couples therapy (also known as couples counseling) to weather these storms and improve their relationships for the better.
